Celebrity Eats: GWYNETH PALTROW - The Baby Food Diet

Ever wish you could relive your childhood? How about your infancy? Gwyneth Paltrow has gotten in touch with her inner toddler by using the Baby Food Diet to keep her weight down. So, if you're ready to forgo chewing and solid food for a period of time, this might be the perfect way to lose weight.
The diet, created by celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson, probably appeals to stars like Paltrow because it's simple (just buy and eat) and doesn't require a big time commitment. Hardcore followers will eat up to 14 jars of mush in the form of fruits and veggies. Other versions include replacing just one or two regular meals daily with the stuff. Because each jar contains a small number of calories (anywhere from about 20 to 150), the Baby Food Diet is perfect for portion control. Plus, if you find it hard to stomach some of the food, you won't be tempted to over indulge and will ultimately consume far fewer calories than you would eating normal food. Still not convinced? Some health experts argue the diet isn't that bad for you, pointing to the fact that baby food generally lacks added sugar, sodium and preservatives.
While the Baby Food Diet is neither complicated nor time consuming, it is extremely limiting. You're a slave to the existing flavors and even if you find yourself craving something healthy, you might be out of luck. However, someone who truly sticks to baby food only for a week will likely see some results. The real work would then come after the diet - maintaining a healthy, balanced diet and getting regular exercise are key to not regaining all of the weight immediately. I don't know how Gwyneth Paltrow does it - personally, I would feel extremely ridiculous eating out of a jar with a baby's face on it. I'm also not the biggest fan of peas.
